My three greatest losses during the pandemic have been my favorite social activities related to music (visiting my local guitar store and playing with my local folk music pickup band) and running trains at my model railroad club and attending morning Minyan prayers daily at my synagogue. Praying with a group on Zoom just isn't the same as being in a room with nine other Jews saying morning prayers. Praying part of a small group which includes Torah passages lifts me into a totally more involved connection with my faith. I really do miss those in person prayers. The one positive is that our Saturday morning band does a free floating ZOOM call talking about music and about anything else any group member wants to talk about. I have gotten to know so much more about my bandmates and feel a greater sense of connection with each of them. But I really do miss making music
